2008 TUSKER GAME FISH CLASSIC (Registration
Form)
As the incumbent President of the Port Vila Game Fishing Club I welcome
you on behalf of our entire membership and committee to attend the
2008 Tusker International Game Fish Classic to be held from November
8th to 9th 2008.
2008 continues with the new name for our major competition, which
has changed from the Billfish to the Game Fish Classic to recognize
the huge variety of fish and fishing styles available during the event.
Again for 2008 year the club will be allocating trophies in all classes
of fishing and every competitor will have the chance to win a fabulous
prize in our lucky angler draw at our presentation dinner on Sunday
night.
Our fishing rules
are framed around the IGFA guidelines and our club is affiliated with
IGFA. Rules for the 2008 Tusker
Game Fish Classic will be announced shortly. Our competition rules
require that all participants are club members or members of an affiliated
fishing association. You should also note that our rules have been
redrafted totally encourage the tag and release of Billfish species.
2008 continues with the use of a scaled tag point system for line
classes from 15kg to 24kg. Marlin are not to be weighed UNLESS they
are a potential World or Vanuatu record claim.
Of course a non-profit club cannot operate without support from our
sponsors and we are always looking for that support (!!). You will
find many links to our supporters on our Links
page. We encourage you to seek out their services or products
wherever possible. Details of all our sponsors for 2008 will be published
and acknowledged at the competition and in our final Tournament guide
Book.
The year to date has been a successful one for PVGFC, mainly due to
the fantastic support by our members for our regular competitions
and the continued support of our valued sponsors. Tusker Beer / Vanuatu
Brewing Limited and Murray Parsons have been brilliant again in this
regard. As many of you already know Tusker has sponsored this tournament
for the last 10 years and we the members of the Port Vila Game Fishing
Club appreciate the continued support. Murray we couldn’t do it without
you mate! I would also like to thank my tournament committee for all
their time and hard work. I could not do my job without you --- thank
you all.
Please take the time to read through the IGFA and Tournament
rules and make this event a fabulous time to enjoy the thrill
of fishing, some time on the water and building that special camaraderie
that comes from fishing in a tournament of the calibre of the 2008
Tusker International Game Fish Classic.
I trust you will all enjoy the weekend of fishing and wish you all
the best in the tournament.
